A pedal brand was born by Shiga's two masters, who were supervised by Altero Custom Guitars and designed by KarDiaN's main designer "Toshikazu Kitada".
The reason why we launched a new brand is because as a guitar maker, we had the belief that we wanted to create the best tone without cutting the original sound of the instrument. The pedals and amplifiers in Japan should not be lacking in the sound we are aiming for. We have launched a pedal brand from Pro Spirits.
The pedals we make are designed to support the original sound of the guitar, so the low that is useful for the acoustic characteristics of the guitar is left as much as possible, and the glitter of the strings is important. However, if you leave too much low and high on the pedal, there are many inconveniences especially when using an amplifier circuit, and the sound itself may become muddy. Designed to make the sound straight from the board using the filter effect calculated from the cross-sectional area and dielectric constant of the wiring material instead, the appearance as a wood tree printed on the pedal surface is a respect for the old sound and a new sound. I express the attitude to challenge through the pedal
Altero Custom Guitars chose Mahogany as its design concept this time.
In order to express the expressive and rich tone of "Mahogany" with distortion, I challenged the development with Mr. Kitada, the main designer of KarDiaN. The concept of this pedal is the reconstruction of low gain, which is the blind spot of the distortion pedal, and the paired high gain. Coexistence of extreme feeling in Japan By providing these, we succeeded in creating a distortion pedal "Mag" that no one has ever experienced.
When played at maximum gain, you can experience an extreme sound that is so violently distorted that you can carve a hard riff. However, usually such pedals are filtered for high gain, so there is an extra feeling of compression at low gain. The sound is uninteresting with a small amount of information cut off at the top and bottom, so "Mag" challenged the design of a filter circuit linked to gain control.
Turn the "Gain" knob to the 11 o'clock position and turn the "Volume" knob a little higher to set it to a low gain setting. This is because the adjustment has been made to leave a proper low cut amount at low gain, and especially the necessary and sufficient amount from the high range to the presence range.
Also supporting these are two special tone sections, "Tone" allows you to adjust the tone while filling the mid-high range. The effect is similar to the normal tone section, but the high range remains. The feeling of air and presence is not lost because you can adjust the "Presence" This knob is the point of interest. It is possible to finely control the upper band including the feeling of air that can not be adjusted with Tone. This makes it possible to control the nuances including air through the cabinet that only the amplifier that produces the actual sound has.
The design is alumite of the machined aluminum housing in a glossy vermillion color, and the surface adopts a luxurious satin finish. The laser engraving is not only luxurious but also has the property of not wearing when used on the stage. I carved the tree of "Mahogany" which is the origin as a design.
